David Austin – Chief Executive Officer, President, Director, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Austin has served as the President and as a Director of Colonial Coal since August 2005 and as the CEO and Chairman of the Board since November 2008. Mr. Austin also served as the President of Northern Energy & Mining Inc from 2001 to 2004.
John Perry – Chief Operating Officer and Director
Mr. Perry has served as Chief Operating Officer and as a Director of Colonial Coal since May 2008. Formerly Mr. Perry served as the director of exploration for the Belcourt Saxon Coal Limited Partnership from 2005 to 2008 as well as the manager of exploration for Northern Energy & Mining Inc from 2004 and 2006
Greg Waller – Director
Retired from Teck Resources, the world’s second-largest, and North America’s largest, steelmaking coal producer, in 2017 as Senior Vice President Investor Relations and Strategic Analysis. Over his 33 years with the company, Mr. Waller gained extensive knowledge of various commodity markets, industry participants and significant mining assets globally. As a member of the senior management team at Teck, Mr. Waller was involved with major strategic decisions and was a leading spokesperson for the company
Partha S. Bhattacharyya – Director
Was Chairman & Managing Director – Coal India Limited (CIL) from 2006-2011. CIL is an Indian public sector coal mining and refining company headquartered in Kolkata. It is the largest coal-producing company in the world and currently contributes around 82% to the total coal production in India. Since 2016, Mr. Bhattacharyya has been a director of Deepak Fertilizers and Petrochem. Corp. Ltd. & Haldia Petrochem. Ltd (HPL). HLP is one of the largest petrochemical companies in India with a total capacity equivalent to 7, 00,000 TPA of ethylene. From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Bhattacharyya was Chairman & Managing Director for Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India & of the World Academy of Productivity Science.
Ian Downie – Director
Mr. Downie has been a Director and Chair of the Audit Committee for Colonial Coal since November 2008. He currently also acts as a consultant for mediation and dispute resolution. Mr. Downie also served as a director of terminal operations for BC Ferry Services from 1999 to 2007.
Anthony Hammond – Director
Mr. Hammond has been a Director of Colonial Coal since November 2008. He also served as a Director for Northern Energy & Mining Inc from 1997 to 2008 with an additional term in 2009. He has also acted as the Chairman and Managing Director of Great Orme Mines Ltd in North Wales, UK since 1990.
